UK State Minister Tony MacNulty affirms policy of zero-tolerance towards terrorism 02-05-2008
UK Minister of State, Tony MacNulty assured Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rohitha Bogollagma that his nation is ready to take severe steps against LTTE whenever they violate laws against terrorism.
Minister Bogollagama explained to the British Minister during the discussion the nature of LTTE activity and pointed out that the fund raising activities and propaganda campaigns carried out in western countries such as UK by the LTTE can be regarded as clear examples of the LTTE's motives.
Minister Bogollagama while commending the steps taken by the UK State Ministry and its staff to freeze LTTE accounts requested continued vigilance regarding LTTE front-organizations.
The UK Minister emphasized that his nation has already taken necessary steps to face the challenges aroused by terrorist organizations and their activities.

A Sri Lankan toddler in UK has died after a television apparently toppled over and fell on him. The one-year-old boy from Swansea, was named by the local Evening Post newspaper as Ghazi Riyaz Mohammed. The paper said the boy's parents have two other children and were thought to be from Sri Lanka and seeking asylum in UK.

The Colombo District Court remanded a British constructor who built the recently opened British High Commission at Buller’s Road, Colombo for allegedly defrauding a local sub-contractor by failing to make payments of over Rs. 18 million.
Colombo District Judge Sisira Ratnayake remanded Graham A. Gardner who had been arrested at his apartment at Barnes Residencies, Colombo-07 on a civil warrant.
