Old Thomians in UK paint thePrince of Ceylon Blue,Black and Blue Lanka Tribune 02-05-2008
An unforgettable and memorable night was enjoyed by Thomians 'young and old' , on Friday 25 April 2008.
The newly refurbished "Prince of Ceylon" restaurant did them proud, for this night was filled with song and dance, food and music and a jolly good time was had by all!
One old Thomian commented that, " I had been with this association for the past 22 years, but would place the 25th. night's celebrations, as one of the best I have seen in recent years!. Every lady present joined in the merrymaking!
Everyone 'let their hair down' and the scenes were not dissimilar to those seen at any Royal-Thomian match celebration!
The unity and the participation of old Thomians of all age groups, were an inspiring and encouraging feat! It was heartening to witness the warmth exchanged, between the 'young old Thomians and their senior counterparts!"
The night went on as if there was no tomorrow!
There was absolutely no reason for complaint and/or dissent, and the night's merry- making, were heartily enjoyed by guests, even from our rival schools!
Back up music was provided by Harsha and spiced into the 'vernacular' by our own Dr.Romesh Lawrence, who left no part of the human anatomy, alone!
A naughty 'stand up' session of verbal 'jargon' was presented by Dr.Ranjith Dambawinna, who 'tickled' the memories of many a cabbage and carrot,-of 'times' gone by!!
A special mention must be made about the new owner of the "Prince of Ceylon" Restaurant,Mr Wasantha Pathiranage, also a proud old Thomian. Mr Errol Taylor the Chef, and his staff, provided an excellent and sumptuous meal.
Credit goes to the organiser, Captain Mahen Abeysekera and his dinner committee ,for making this event the success it was!
