14 Indian fisherman arrested at Keyts

Fourteen Indian fishermen were arrested by the Navy at Keyts on Tuesday morning after they strayed into Sri Lanka\'s territorial waters and are being detained at the Keyts police station, Police spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekara said.

Four trawlers that the men had travelled in were also detained, he said.

Further inquires are pending.

A Minor explosion has occurred near the railway track close to the Mount Laviniya railway in Colombo this evening (7 January) around 8.00 PM sources said.

No casualties were reported in the incident while minor damages for the railway track, police sources said.

Following days long fighting, troops of 58 Division (Earlier Task Force 1) have entered into the Murasumoddai Town perimeter by this afternoon, 7 January, the latest military report received from the battlefront said.
