According to the sources an armed gang arrived in a three-wheeler has fired at the victim using a machine gun whilst he was at his own boutique around 9.20 am. The victim has been identified as Baskaran, a father of two children. According to the civilian sources LTTE agents have been terrorizing businessmen in the area demanding them to offer money to the outfit. Those who do not comply with their orders have to face the \"consequences\", the sources added. Police probes in to the killing. Meanwhile, the residents in the Vavuniya town have observed a harthal today, to protest against LTTE killings of civilians in the area. All shops have been closed and public transport services have come to a stand still.
