In a letter to the Elections Commissioner, CAFFE said a journalist from the Associated Press had been turned back from the east, and that he had been told that permission was needed from the Defence Ministry to enter the province. The Defence Ministry order is a violation of the fundamental right to information, and a curb on independent reporting, it said.
