Supreme Council of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress to meet tonight

Supreme Council of the SLMC will meet tonight to take a final decision on contesting the provincial council election in the eastern province. Secretary to the SLMC parliamentarian Hasan Ali said that the meeting will be held at the party headquarters at 8.00 pm today. They are to reach a common decision after considering various proposals received by the party regarding the local government election.

Mr. Ali said some regional party members are on the opinion that the SLMC should contest the election single-handedly.
