The United Peoples’ Freedom Alliance has decided to conduct a series of propaganda rallies organised at electoral level. The party will also conduct door to door propaganda campaigns. Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva said they hope to exchange views with the people regarding the liberation of the east and subsequent development programmes. The UPFA contests the election as a strong group made up of a several political groups. The United National Party has also organised a series of propaganda rallies in the eastern province. A party spokesman told SLBC that during the propaganda they will educate the people on issues pertaining to the people in the east. The JVP says they have already commenced its propaganda activities. A party spokesman said the JVP conducts its propaganda based on defeating separatism. Other political parties and independent groups will also launch its election propaganda in the coming days.
