Estimated 7-8 billion rupees worth public resources used during elections: Transparency Intl.

He requested the public to report instances of misuse of public resources by using government vehicles, helicopters and other forms of transport, government officers, government buildings and other services or by providing special loan facilities by state banks. The misuse of state print and electronic media can also be reported. 

The TISL’s ‘Programme for Protection of Public Resources’ will conduct investigations through a special monitoring team including experienced former CID officials, researchers, lawyers, investigative journalists, retired public officials and auditors. He said that these instances will be reported to the elections commissioner by the TISL.
