President Mahinda Rajapaksa has tasked five eminent persons with looking into a US State Department report on alleged war crimes in Sri Lanka. The committee will have time till December 31 this year to submit its final report, said Human Rights Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe at a media briefing today (Nov. 06). It is headed by D.S. Wijesinghe and comprises Nihal Jayamanne, C.R. de Silva, Mano Ramanathan and Jesima Ismail.
