It will fly four times a week, down from the reported seven frequencies that it wanted as per bilateral air services agreement between the two countries.
Sri Lankan authorities refused the 7-times a week schedule resulting in the Oman government threatening to cancel the agreement and bar SriLankan Airlines flying over Oman airspace to other destinations.
The dispute was sorted out after a high powered delegation led by Civil Aviation Ministry Secretary Ranjit Silva flew to the Omani capital of Muscat last Saturday for crisis talks and arrived at an amicable settlement. SriLankan Airlines flies twice weekly to Muscat via Qatar.
